Flashpoint®: Dragon Rising™ ‘Fear and Anticipation’ gameplay trailer

Looks good. I think it will compliment ARMAII quite nicely as a more casual military sim game. Very intrigued.

My only worry is that in their attempt to bring OFP to the masses they have totally noobified it. In which case I will stick to the awesome ARMAII.

This is the main concern, but I think, from snooping around websites, videos, previews etc, Codemasters are taking what the public say on their forums quite seriously and they ARE listening to what people are saying. This is the main topic of discussion on the official forums almost every day so I do not think it will slip under the radar. For the realism fans, there will be a "hardcore mode" where there are no Hud displays at all etc, so I just think there is more to cater for everyones tastes. Even for the hardcore Arma2fan.

Fingers crossed for a less clumsy game though, thats all I ask....

Well, I am quite looking forward to this, and very glad its coming to console. I just can't bring myself to play on PC these days. I know all the benefits of PC, but I like just starting up the console and playing away, sitting back in chair/sofa and chilling. M+K makes me feel like I am still at work.

Have been waiting for something like this on console. I am personally hoping for somethign half-way between arcade (COD 4) and something sim-like.

Hopefully it looks like it does in that video though.

Anyone know if the campaign is going to support co-op play?

Bought ARMA2 but the co-op campaign just doesn't work well enough to waste any more time on it so am hoping Flashpoint might fill the void :)

I love arma2 and there is no way in hell ofp dr is going to touch it. However, I am also close to giving up on trying to play co-op campaign. I think it will be easier to just pick up and play ofp dr (particularly on a console) as it is aimed at the casual gamer and not your average pc gaming mod / tweak freak.

I imagine anyone with the vaguest of interests in either ArmA or OFP... due to pretty much any preview article on either mentions the whole sworded affair.

Rofl, well ive only known till recently, i was waiting for OFP2 for so long i totally forgot about anything to do with this..

how many operation flashpoint games are there? i remember playing the original game and throughly enjoyed it

Let me quote you from the official forums Helios!

"As promised, today we are pleased to announce that Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will be shipping on October 6th in North America and releasing on October 8th through EPAC territories with a October 9th street date in the UK".

Looking forwards to this.

New video too:

New video looks awesome. Can't wait to give this a whirl.

I hope they don't dumb it down too much to appeal to the masses. Looking good though :)

Well it can't be any worse than ArmA II or should I say ArmA II beta.

Mind you I have played beta's with fewer bugs and performance issues.

lol bitter much?

It's a brilliant game, regardless of the bugs.
