Converting a 4 story town house into 6 dwellings and need to arrange the single incoming services to be split and metered independantly.

Any tips or advice?

Ask your provider for Multi Way Service Head 415v to 240v ,usually minimum size unit is 7 way I think, to provide you with six 80a or 100amp single phase supplies to each flat, with each flat having a 80a or 100a service connection & meter.

The form is a nightmare to filled in, need to know load requirement, whether there was any off-peak heating requirements for each flat, your electrician should be able to work out the power/loads figures.

You could have service head, service connection & the meter for each flat in a accessible central cupboard, with just consumer unit in each flat, makes it each to read them, especially if the tenants is out, than a meter in each flat.

Thanks, I've started with UKPN for the electrics and applied for a quote for 15kVA for each apartment plus a landlords supply.

The head looks interesting I'll have a read ta :)

Now looking at DNO and IDNOs argh

A lot of flats I worked on,they used a Multi Way Service Head, & run swa to the service connection in each flat, or have the service conection next to meter in cupboard & run from that swa to the consumer unit in each flat, most likely hasn't changed, but it was a neat solution having all the meters in one location, every tenant had a key to the cupboard, which wasn't huge, just about 300mm in depth & 600mm wide usually & various heights.
