Flatblade wipers

I was just looking on the Vauxhall site and came across Flatblade wipers. I've not seen these before but as I could do with a new set of wipers I though I could try these out.

Has anyone used these at all? Are they any good?

They look to be the same that come as standard on a lot of VW's, Audi, Vauxhall cars now. If they are the same then they work rather well.

I have some on my Astra, work 100 time sbetter than standard ones, i wouldn't ever go back to normal ones again.

These come on the new focus's as well, seem to work very well..if a little weird looking

Don't know the entire jargon, but IIRC the "Fancy Blades" has something like 1000 times more pressure points than a standard wiper, hence doing a better and longer lasting job of removing water.

Do they do generic ones for most cars? My S40 needs new blades soon.

Got some for the 5, they work a million times better than even expensive bosch blades, very very good.

Do you just find out the size of the wiper your car normall takes

For Example - Fiesta 2 x 19 and then buy them in these weird rubber things

The pukka Bosch Aerotwins are now available as retro-fit for cars with traditional arms. I got a set for the Fabia a few weeks back from http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/ . Ordered mid-afternoon and arrived 8:30am the next morning. They are a vast improvement.

Anyone got the Valeo Silencio X.TRM ones? There a bit cheaper than the Bosch so would be interesting to see how they perform compared to them

Hope they work better than Bosch normal blades. After a day of rain they were worse than the knackered generic ones I took off.

Mum has the Valeo's you mention on hers and they work pretty well. I took the crappy Audi things off at the weekend and put the Aero's on instead rather than just using the retrofit kit. What a difference they make! Well worth the £50 I spent on arms and blades. Trying to get the old ones off was not quite so fun and now have some cuts as result.

Both me and dad have had these in the past. They work fine for a little while but then seem to be worse than half of the cheaper brands.
