Flatout 3: Chaos and Destruction!!?

Flatout 3!? Where did that come from....I have not heard anything about it? Anyone know anything about it?

Also check out Recommended GPU spec's - Nvidia GeForce GTX 590 / AMD Radeon HD 6970

Must have new engine or be poorly optimised.....

The other flatout games ran flawlessly on fairly lower end specs!

To be honest, even some of the videos on Steam look average quality, and very obvious large polygons, and it seems like the 'ragdoll' physics is exactly the same as before.

Even so, Flatout2 was awesome... so I might pick it up in bargain basement pricing or a Steam sale.

I'm certainly not pre-ordering it. The developers have churned out a ton of games, and I have not heard of any of them at all, which isn't a great sign. I mean, sure, they may have made a fantastic game here, but the name alone isn't going to make me blindly pre-order it.

Flatout 2 was an amazing game. Works great with a steering wheel, and looks fantastic in 3D. Paid 60p for it in a Steam sale and have had 35 hours out of it with a friend. Best money I have ever spent.

This one doesn't look very good, if I'm honest...

Enjoyed 1, didnt enjoy 2 because i didnt feel it was a significant enough to be a new game. Hope 3 is an upgrade from 1

Hi, the Steam videos are from an older build of Flatout 3 that publisher Strategy First used. Team6 has uploaded some better quality videos of the release version we will get Tuesday:

Ronnie from Team6 says the team working on a demo for you guys to try, but he does not know when it will be ready. Ronnie also is answering questions at the Steam Flatout forum:

I'm genuinely trying to warn people not to do what I did... I bought it on impulse as I loved the first two Flatout games, I really really did. But this is just shocking, and just feels like a poorman's Burnout.

What's so bad about it?

Granted, the videos weren't exactly impressive... but I did like FlatOut 2, though Ultimate Carnage was actually not as good I thought.

Team6 took Flatout into a new direction and made the game faster in the races. Some players like this, a lot of players don't. So Team6 going to patch in a Classic mode where the cars are slower and handling is more like what we saw in Flatout 1 & 2.

Without deformable geometry Flatout 3 is missing some of the "feel" of Flatout 1 & 2. Team6 say now they will give us deformable geometry. But this may take awhile to patch in.

Online has major issues. Some issues being fix right now with a patch TEAM6 already uploaded, Steam has not updated FO3 with the new patch yet. Here link to my thread about the online issues we found in testing online:

Team6/Strategy First should have let us beta FO3 before releasing it!

I ask Team6 if we could help beta test, but Team6 did not get the OK from Strategy First. If we could have beta tested Flatout 3 before release, we could have gotten rid of a lot issues that are being posted about now. :mad:

Team6 is working on new damage model for Flatout and also doing bug fixes and working on a classic mode that slow the game play of FO3 down some for those that want.

Me, I do not find Flatout 3 game play to fast, but I'm use to driving fast custom cars in community mod for FO2.

Flatout UC was terrific & almost perfect this is not even worth £1 it does nothing FUC did not do far better. Just a cheap n nasty quick cash grab on the poor gamers who did not do enough research on it.
