Fleet Foxes

reminds me a bit of Neil Young..and somebody else who I cannot quite put my finger on yet

They remind me a lot of The Shins. I can definitely hear the Young element too.

For example:

The Shins - New Slang

I remembered the name of the other band I thought they reminded me off

America! (early 70's folk rock, Horse with no name etc.)

bit old for some of the youngsters on here

I was getting a real Moody Blues vibe from Mykanos. Excellent track, I love it!

This year's fad.

Unfortunately so. Got their EP before the album came out last year, album on release and saw them in a nice, intimate venue in October which was bloody amazing! But now they're going to get overplayed and only play large venues which wont suit them. Selfish thinking but I don't care :p

It's good chilled out summery music though and the guys are likeable so all the best to them :)

EDIT: Helium Junkie, try their EP Sun Giant first. It has Mykonos on there and it's very good. Not too long either so you're more likely to listen to it all if you're not sure! Prefer it over the album to be honest.

(Saying that, do they bundle the EP with the album now...?)

awesome band, saw them in london earlier this year were fantastic live beter than the cd.

another band worth checking out is the bowerbirds :)

I bought the album for my gf after seeing an advert and thinking she'd like that sort of thing, and it turns out I do too!

Great album, certainly different from the usual indie stuff that's forced out by the nme brigade.

I agree this music is awesome, listened to mykanos like 20x on youtube yesterday when my mate linked me to it .

Sounds nice and relaxing :).

Cracking group. Got their EP and their album. Mykonos and White Winter Hymnal are two of my favourite tracks.
