What's best?

I rented Flight 93 the other day thinking that i was getting the United 93 DVD instead. I just got the titles slightly mixed up! What an idiot! :o

Flight 93 was actually an OK film. It was quite moving in parts although it was more like a 'made for TV' movie.

So, has anyone seen both? Is it worth me watching United 93 when i've already seen Flight 93?

I might be way off but I'm sure the American version was called United 93 and they changed the title to Flight 93 for the rest of the world (or vice versa).
As far as I know its exactly the same film.

dm you are, There are 2 separate films, one flight 93 and the other United 93.

I have seen both fozzy, and flight 93 is one of the worst films I have even seen! Its incredibly cheesey, infact it has quite high comedy value.:p

Unite 93 is a very different film, its shot in real time, and depicts the events as close as possible to what they know. It is a really really good film I am sure you will like it, watch it!

Well bugger me.
Still thought you may be mistaken and so did a bit of hunting.
It seems that I thoroughly enjoyed Flight 93 and I haven't seen United 93 :D

Was Flight 93 the one they ended with the search crew wondering "where is the plane in this plane crash site"?

Haha, yep.:D

My god it was a master stroke by the flight 93 filmmakers naming it that.

Are these both based on 9/11? Or is flight 93 a more or less unrelated film trying to cash in?

They are both related to 911, ie the plane which crashed in the middle of the States - ie the flight 93 (United Airlines);)

Yeah Flight 93 came first.

I've got United 93 on DVD and its a fantastic film, definetly one to watch.

Haven't seen Flight 93 so can't comment, don't think i'll bother seeing it though.

foz - all I know is that I watched United93, and it was one of the most intense, emotional films I've seen.

Went to see United with my girlfriend. We both walked out the Odeon really sombre and kinda deep in our own thoughts. We didn't feel like crying or anything like that. Just kinda numbed and overwhelmed by the events of that day and the people in that jet.

I don't know if Flight is any good. But I can certainly recommend United.

(edit - Like Mag says above... I really don't think I'd need to watch something like Flight after this. It's like once I saw this I didn't need any other variation about the people in the jet.)

Watched United 93 yesterday and thought I'd mention that it was 57 mins into the film when it started to concentrate on United 93 where Flight 93 is about the hijack straightaway.

Which film did you prefer then?

I thought they were the same film too!

Gah, i've been telling people how good Flight 93 is when i've actually seen United 93. Better add Flight 93 to my rental list ! :o

Was it really that bad? I do admit that it was more like a TV movie more than anything else. :)

So, by what you're saying, if i liked Flight 93, i should love United 93?

Not at all they are totally different films, personally I dont like Cheesey movies eg Flight 93 and the new Nicolas cage film - World Trade center. United 93 is a gritty, realistic, harrowing and excellent film, I would recommend it to anyone but I am not sure what types of film you like so unsure if you will like it.

I'll give it a watch sometime. I do enjoy films that are based on true stories.

Um, that's because it was.

While United 93 is still on the apron, in one shot, you can clearly see a WestJet 737-700 in the background, which, in the very next shot, is taxiing behind United 93 for departure. Westjet does not serve Newark New Jersey, and WestJet Airlines did not add Transborder service to the United States until 2004, therefore, that plane should not have been there.
