Flight Ban for refusing X-Ray

Its not optional. You refuse it, they refuse your flight.

Fuss over nothing, You aren't automatically entitled to fly just because you have a ticket.

Devils advocate but ..

If a airline decided that all it's passengers had to say out loud the line 'Jesus deserves to rot in hell' before it let passengers on - to weed out Christian fundermentalists .. would that be acceptable ...?

That's not really the same thing, there's no life being risked. I thought they picked some people from every flight at 'random' or if they had any reason to.

but you don't know who they are and they don't know who you are so it doesn't matter, you'll only be embarassed if you got a tiny dong

Evidently that's not what she believes. The person I was replying to asked, how you could not want to do this because of religion. The answer is simple.

A stranger seeing you naked?

Don't have to be religious to object to that either.

you do know that we all get born naked right?

its not as though NOBODY will ever have seen this before. do they object to maternity staff in the same way?

some places probably still do strip searches. this is nowhere near as degrading...

This.

Don't agree with their T&C? Don't use their product/service then. Simples.

The problem is this sort of thing isn't actually airline T&C's, but government pandering and fear-mongering with no real valid evidence to support effectiveness.

It is important to split the actions of a company with those they are forced to do by the state when determining whether the action is reasonable when the ability to choose has been removed.

Where's the risk to the airline and passengers in that? Unless they have something that can do damage, like a bomb, then that wouldn't be the case.

She should accept it, or go home.

nope. Anything to stop trafficing, terrorism etc etc.

ok oxy, you will be first in line for your mandatory cavity search then ? *sound of rubber glove*

great way to start your holiday...

when i go on holiday next and i am told to walk through a body scanner, i will say that they can strip search me but they can't take any pictures.

on a more serious note, there has been zero justification for body scanners at airports, statistically you have more chance of getting struck by lighting than dieing in a terrorist attack on an airplane.

just another example of the security industry manipulating the government and getting £100million's contracts for them, for security that won't stop a terrorist attack.

Oh I agree with you 100% on that, but it's known before you buy a ticket that you might have to be full-body-scanned. It's not as if they turned up and discovered it after they were sold the ticket.

Last time I flew I didn't even take off my shoes at the metal detector gate/search point even though I saw everyone doing it, they didn't even search me, they never do, I must look innocent :)

This actually happened twice in a row now, both times in Gatwick airport.

Smug git. I always get molested at airports, usually by the butch lesbian type security guard, who are none to gentle either. :(
