It's been many a year since I've flown (feeling a bit nervous, hahah)
So I'm probably overthinking the preparation needed.

Here's what I got so far.
Anything obvious I've brain farted over and missed.

1. Passport
2. Suitcase of clothes/crimbo gifts (yes I checked the legal limit of bringing Alcohol into the country, anything over 22% should be less than 1 litre)
3. Phone + Charger
4. Entertainment (Book, MP3s, Tablet, earplugs)
5. Printed itinerary
6. Bit of UK currency
7. Emergency contact numbers written down
8. Doctors note meeting the requirements listed on the gov.uk website for some prescription medicine I have

Any more suggestions? :)

Insurance

Actually, quite interesting.
I normally do get insurance to cover the big 3.
Lost Luggage, Flight Curtailment and Medical issues.
However, I can't find anyone who'll insure a UK citizen travelling to the UK. They just won't do it. Nothing that happens in your 'home country' is covered.

Sooooo...... Looks like I'll just have to cross my fingers about luggage and delays, and the medical stuff is not an issue as I already have worldwide (excluding USA) cover with another insurer. :)

I've never seen a ytravel insurance company care about citizenship, only your place of residence. But insurance form a chinese travel insurance company.

Every single insurer I checked on moneysupermarket.com said you need to live in the UK for at least 6 months in the year in order to qualify.
And World Nomads said they wouldn't insure me against losses in the UK since I'm from the UK :/
