Flight sim rig even

Been out of the new computer stage for a while think 2007 i did this
Code:
Gainward BLISS GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) -
Intel Core 2 Duo E2180 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.00GHz (800FSB) -
Pioneer DVR-212DBK 18x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)
Abit IP35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Antec NSK 6580 Super Midi Tower Case - 430W Earth Watts PSU
OCZ 2GB (4x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series
Western Digital Caviar SE16 400GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

I want something just to run flight simx on but really good and want to try to get in before the VAT raise.

will i need to gfx cards? what would be a good spec in the £700 price range

Will both of them work with my existing spec?

Thanks again

as long as this is your motherboard- http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?fMTYPE=LGA775&pMODEL_NAME=IP35

the cpu support list shows the Q6600- http://www.abit.com.tw/cpu-support-list/mb/intel_p35_ip35.htm

and the GTX460 will slot right in, it requires two 6pin pci-e connectors, your psu probably has just one, but you can use a molex to pci-e power adaptor supplied with the card.

With FSX, getting a beefier CPU will give better performance than getting a beefier GPU. Especially if you like autogen scenery and lots of traffic.

on a slightly different note, it doesnt support sli/crossfire, but im not sure if it favours ATI or nvidia. someone else can probably clarify this.

I also agree that FSX is about CPU power. Please read on the usual fs sites about how to install/setup FSX to get the most out of it.

Another vote for the Q6600 and overclock it. Theres many setup and fsx guides to try and get the most out of fsx. Look at avsim forums too for a great guide. An 8800 GT wouldn't perform too badly but certainly a GTX 460 would be a great improvement not only for now but for a little while to come.
