So, moving house soon and I'm going to have a bit less desk space, so I was wondering, if there is a chair that I can mount my HOTAS kit to, but have it easily removable so I can stick it in storage?

Sounds like a simple request, but I woudlnt know where to start tbh.

Depends if you want the 'real' feel of it being between your legs, there is a few companies that sell 'flight sim' chairs where you can mount the joystick there and remove when not using it.

I'll be going left/right side, think Viper rather than anything else, not interested in the realistic side of things, just space and the ability to remove it easily for when I'm not flying around.
Also, doesnt want to be too high a back as I have a VR headset and a high back used to limit my movement with the headset on.

There's not a huge amount around.
Monstertech probably do the best chair, but it's a shed load of dosh.

They do also sell mounts which could be used with a chair of other groups.
Again, not cheap, but they are available s/h, and they really are built like tanks. I've ended up with a bunch of their gear s/h. Sure, a few scratches, but genuinely worth the effort.
They include quick release and also swivel mounts.

Another option would be to mount your HOTAS to your desk on QR plates. There's a variety of mounts available for that.

To enable easy fold-up capability, have a look at the stand by GT Omega, that might do the job.

Desk clamp mounts are great, but can make the space quite tight. Monstertech are top end mounting solutions, but there are cheaper versions on the rainforest which are pretty solid once everything is tightened up.

Several people have used VESA pole mounts to the arms of their chairs (the more popular IKEA gaming chairs can be especially good for this), on which they then mount their HOTAS (Hotases, Hot asses, Hotaii, Hotei, Hotaeum?).
You can get them pretty cheap on Amazon and the like. Can also work for desk legs. Removal is simply undoing one screw and unclipping from the chair.
The benefit here is a wider choice of chair, and not just one dedicated to flight simming or the abysmal "Gaming" style chairs.

Just remembered the other option that I’d consider, ie the Simfab.
It’s primarily sold in the US, and gets good reviews over there.
