Flight sim with basic tutition included needed.

I'm putting together a flight sim based pc for me local Air training corps sqdn at which I'm a civilian instructor. I've got the hardware sorted but I need suggestions for suitable games, preferably at least one that that teaches the absolute basics in stages if possible, y'know, what rudders, elevators and ailerons do.
Does FSX have these options 'frinstance?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

i just bought il2 sturkovivkckckckck what ever its called and it has little video tutorials which explain all that.

FSX teaches some flying techniques through the mission system and learning center.

There are also addons like Flying School that take the teaching to another level.

I would recommend fsx, fs2004 or fs9. It really depends on what your preference is or what your PC can handle. IMO, stick with fsx, you can buy an addon called Flight School 2009, which oddly enough I bought just recently as they had a 40% offer last week. I have not had time to use it, but if you check out their website, it should give you lots of info how far this addon for FSX can support your needs. From what I can tell, I presume you will also need a near complete cockpit setup, again, FSX support a great range of highly specialized controls/displays by several 3rd party companies that should allow you to setup a near realistic flight setup. I would recommend reading perhaps some of my recent posts & screenshots in this forum, some are screenshots of FSX but I also have posted lots of info regarding what FSX can do for you and how to set it up.

I just added 3 Saitek Display panels which are not shown on that picture, check out the saitek website for their latest addon panels.

The cadets would wet themselves if I showed them that lot. Atm I've got an overclocked E4300 at 3.0ghz, 2 x 1gb geil pc6400 memory and an overclocked powercolor 4870 512mb base unit. This is gonna be, hopefully, connected to an "Acco Nobo X17E projector" to give a big "on wall" image I hope.
Should be sufficient to run FSX at medium settings I'd have thought. Any suggestions wrt upgarding hardware would be appreciated as well.

100% get fs2004 with those secs. As it's going to be used primarily for flight tuition then the extra visuals of fsx are not going to be important anyway and fs2004 will run infinitely better for you.
The other option is to go for xplane, which arguably has better simulated flight dynamics then the microsoft series. xplane 9 runs about on par with fs2004.
