Flight Simulator X Out of Memory

Been playing FSX recently and it regualrly crashes stating out of memory. A quick google shows it is isn't all that uncommon, but all the forum links to articles are dead now! Does it mean RAM or VRAM? When the game crashes, task manager says It is using 1.3GB of RAM- why doesn't it use more, as I have more available? And I would have thought my 2GB on my 7870 would have been enough VRAM...

So yeah, anyone know a fix? or shortcut target paramiter "-windowed" kind of fix (don't know what it's called!)

Try adding HIGHMEMFIX=1 to the [GRAPHICS] section of the fsx.cfg file.

thanks for the suggestion, but I can't seem to find the cfg file in My Documents, appdata, or the install location

FSX is very CPU dependant. A GTX 560ti 1024 is more than enough to run this game with the right set up......
