Flooding today !

There was a lot of rain this morning and a torrent running along the curb but that was it.

That's not flooding. Certainly not news worthy. It's just a large puddle. Now, flooding is what I had to go through on my way to work today where cars were literally abandoned and started floating near ledbury

A flood is an overflow of water that submerges land

The European Union (EU) Floods Directive defines a flood as a covering by water of land not normally covered by water

A flood is a flood, the water was being pushed into peoples houses i'd class that as a flood. Sure people were not using boats, sure people were not drowning but it was a flood

Oh and police blocked two roads due to the " flooding ", don't think the police would block roads due to a puddle

My new place of work is right between a river and canal, and on lower ground too (somehow?).
Wonder if it's still there tomorrow.

Loads of flooding around here over the last few days, so naturally I've been out in the Land Rover playing in it

Most of the villages around us have various degrees of flooding from moderate to severe (I live in Somerset) its being managed ok in the town here atm but looks like the drainage is working at max capacity.
