We’ve just had an extension built, and an internal wall removed. So we have the original floor slab- block and beam with 50mm concrete screed then a new slab built on a raft with sand/cement screed. Having never used decoupling matting before I could use some advice.

Height wise I’m limited, really don’t want to remove the kitchen base units so I’ve removed the old tiles etc with the kitchen intact. We have 20mm to play with and 9.5mm thick 600x1200 porcelain tiles.
Also, I’d like a minimal change in height from amtico hallway.
Quorn recommended all of the Kerakoll range and I see their membrane isn’t like the Ditra. It’s <1mm thick vs >3mm
Still just stuck down on tile adhesive with a 4mm notch.
I planned to use Ultra tile proflex S2 again just because I’ve had success with it in the past.

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated as always.

4mm notch would normally be used for much smaller tiles, either 10mm square or half round would be more appropriate for tiles that big. Would still leave 5.5mm height to paly with, assuming level surface.
