Floppy disk

Silly question and I feel quite stupid for asking. But i have to ask so i know. Do i need a floppy disk drive for my new/first build?

If i do, why?
and if i dont... why?

No.

You can boot from CD. if you have a windows disk

Only time you need one is to install the Raid drivers if you want to setup a Raid array.

oor if you have bios problems floppy can sometimes be only way out.

I just slipstreamed the raid drivers onto my XP CD.

Haven't had a floppy drive since about 5 years ago.

I still need a floppy for my normal SATA hard drive. I did slipstream the drivers onto a disc, but then lost it

if you have a flopy drive from and old machine i would stick it in anyway. why not.

a bit of extra compatability can come in handy.


edit: ive not used a floppy for about 3 years tho.....but i still have one for some strange reason.

Windows'll load a driver for it far too much wasted resources
