Hi y'all!

Just moved my naff old system in to a new case but for some reason the floppy drive light is always on, despite there not being a disk inside. Also when I do put a disk in, the pc doesn't see it.

It seems to me that the floppy drive connection to either the PSU or the motherboard must be dodgy, but it looks fine to me. Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated.

If the light's always on, it means you've got one of the ends of the data cable plugged in the wrong way round.

i dont think i have ever managed to get the cable the right way round the first time on a floppy i swear. they have an in built chip that chooses the ooposite way to the way you put the cable in when it firest connected.
