i appear to have fallen on my keyboard and ordered an a7r V. What a tragic tragic accident

Let me know what you think to the screen. Personally, I think it has a design flaw having recently got one.

The left side top piece the screen rotates around isn't held in as firmly as the lowest piece below the small middle section. On the back of it, there is less plastic/mounting and it's not as rigid. This would be an incredibly minor point except it's not as this piece also sticks out slightly from the camera body edge as the screen isn't actually installed into the body horizontally. It's very slightly rotated counter clockwise. This is on all a7r5, not just mine. I'm thinking this piece is likely to flex slightly and fail over time. It's also not aligned exactly with the lowest piece. The fact the screen isn't installed horizontally is also somewhat of a joke given the rest of the body doesn't align with it apart from the right side. The gap at the top is unequal, like card sag. I would overlook this, but not with the top piece flex as well.

I'm amazed no review has picked this up but at the same time I'm not surprised at all given it's anti sony.

thank you for the heads up.

I will have a good look at the screen when it arrives and make a decision on if i am concerned about it, i have googled this and can’t see anything on it but i may be wording my search wrong. Would be a shame really as my previous 2 sonys had fantastic screens

Virtually everything about the camera is great bar that issue. It may not turn out to be one bar the aesthetics, which is minor. Screen itself is excellent. It's difficult to see exactly what I mean on images, but in hand it's noticeable. In Dustin Abbots review, on the rear image of the camera you can see the alignment is slightly out between top and lower tab. Sony official images hide it very well.

I see kingfisher close to where I live (like within a 5 min walk) but its a really popular walking / riding path and I don't think the local youths would leave me a alone if I were to sit in camo gear trying to snap it. I need to find a quieter place. I'm constantly putting a 150-600 sigma in my basket but don't pull the trigger for some reason.

Fortunately for me the spot near me isn’t heavily frequented by those types of youths. i’ve also seen 30+ Photographers there because it is quite a nice spot for it. I’m only shooting with a 50-400 and find it amazing honestly. That said i’m sure i would say the same about a 600.

That’s a lovely photo.

Thanks :) i think he looks really curious on the first one

Oh no, i honestly need to invest into some anti slip shoes as i’ve tripped over, head butted my keyboard and when ive looked up you can imagine my shock to find i had ordered a sony 200mm-600mm g oss lens and a 1.4 teleconverter!! Too late to cancel now.

Luckily i managed to get my blue light discount code added during the accident so had a good discount of £480 including the feb sale
