Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao May 2 MGM Grand Las Vegas

Don't worry Mayweather haters Amirs got him covered..

"The mistake Manny made was to drop to Mayweather's pace," said Khan. "You need to stick to your own pace and that's what a younger man could do.

"Mayweather is a very classy fighter but he is not the biggest puncher. He won't hurt you.

"One boxer who can get to him, throw a lot of shots, and show a lot of heart, is Amir Khan."

Now if FM or Pac could drop this bum I would be forever grateful. Both should offer him a 5m max share of the purse, it will be a tragedy if he gets a huge fight.

It's funny reading some of these anti Mayweather posts. I'm sure most of the people posting these are just embarrassed about the outcome of the fight. Before the fight they would have been predicting a Pacquiao victory and making themselves out to be such learnered people about the sport of boxing.

The result of this fight has made them embarrassed that they got their predictions so wrong, and they are probably feeling a bit stupid in front people they would have been debating with about who would win the fight. How can they now claim to know the sport so well when they get a fight prediction so wrong.

Get over it, the better boxer won, move on.

They were not predictions more along the lines of "Hope Manny knocks him out" because not many people like Mayweather.

I came across many who thought that Pacquiao would win, on the internet and in person. Some seriously thought Pacquiao would win, I try to hold my laugh when I see them.

My problem with the fight is that it showed nothing to encourage the potential new audience to keep coming back. Boxing is dying on its ass and this one fight has probably made the same in revenue as boxing worldwide combined over the preceding 2-3 years.

For the sport Mayweather's approach is a disaster. He has taken all it has to give including any entertainment value. What Mayweather does, while technically excellent, does nothing to promote the sport. He does not love the sport and is in it for the money so I expect no different from him.

I am a fight fan but genuinely cannot think of an exciting Mayweather performance in the last 10 years. This fight was a huge missed opportunity to grow the sport.

He is also 47-1 in my eyes, Jose Luis Castillo won their first fight.

The biggest thing is he's always the bigger guy in there and we all know a good big guy beats a good little guy.

Floyd fools these people though they really think he's the best ever it's laughable.

What about Saul Alvarez? Corrales? Ortiz? They were all bigger than Mayweather.

All dangerous opponents. Sure he has fought some guys who were past it e.g. Mosley. But not Marquez, De La Hoya, Alvarez, Cotto, Maidana. Who else should he fight right now who is in their prime and might cause him problems? I genuinely can't think of anyone.

 People would have liked to see pacman win but few thought he would. It would have been a different fight if MW hadn't spent 4 years side stepping the fight.

What are you talking about? 5 years a go the fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao was a done deal, the only thing that was preventing the bout was that the Pacquiao camp did not want random drug testing.

Looking at what happened in the fight, it is now clear why the Pacquiao camp was against the random drug tests. Pacquiao could really have done with the extra boost.

what a boring world cup final im never watching football ever again

boxing just isn't one fight there's exciting fights all the time

i've tried ufc but it's boring just two dudes hugging eachother on the floor in 90% of fights

Fair comment, I probably should have worded my comment differently :p Though I have watched other boxing matches and come to this conclusion. That said it is my personal choice and obviously others may disagree with :)

Ahhh. You were doing so well.
True :)

What an absolutely ridiculous potential sentence- possibly going to JAIL and... a $5000 fine...

Also, what the **** do the Nevada commission care. 'Defrauding' viewers etc? If Manny had pulled out of the fight, it would never have been re-made. How many millions did the commission get to licence this fight? Not sure why they're bothered.

Oh and just saw: the NAC overruled a doctor who prescribed the injection, just because they were unaware of the injury. They overruled a DOCTOR adminstering a MEDICINE, and chose to allow have a crocked Pacquiao to fight on, leading to a crap fight, only to then sue him for not declaring it, and thus 'defrauding viewers and gamblers', even though they could have permitted the injection in the first place, potentially allowing for a more competitive fight, who knows. Hahahaha.

He was asked to declare injuries the day before the fight and also two weeks before, or something, so why didn't he?

Fake injury or not, he's lost a bit of credibility in my eyes. He's either making it up or didn't report it properly. The tight medical control on this fight has been known for years and it was very naive to think a last minute jab would be allowed. If it was wrongly disallowed then Pacman should be the one starting the law suit.

The whole thing stinks.

In normal circumstances boxers(and many other sportsmen/athletes) use pain reducing gels, pills, injections to perform at a higher level. It is simply not okay to inject every athlete before an event with drugs to help them push that bit harder and further. Aside from being potentially dangerous it is entirely unfair, it is literally a performance enhancing drug, short term rather than long term like steriods(proper steroids, corticosteroids are often used for pain relief/reduction in inflamation).

You need to have a clear medical history of an injury to receive permission to receive such an injection. Turning up before the fight and last minute saying, "hey, I want this drug that will help me perform" when previously lying about being injured is absolutely not ok. Any doctor can be paid(presuming a doctor suggesting it made it ethical or a good suggestion is laughable.... doctors behind most of the steroid scandals to hit sports in the last 30 years) to say someone needs a drug that will help them last second.

Nothing, absolutely nothing prevented Pacman revealing his injury and asking for the injection with notice, nothing except Pacman appears to have intentionally deceived everyone to get him 100mil payment.

His actions in the fight, his comments after the fight and his now excuse making, I've lost almost all respect for him over this one fight.

Pacman, if he is really injured, went out of his way to deceive literally millions of people, for money and is blaming everyone but himself for the performance.

Real injury, disclose it, you think Mayweather didn't want 200million for this fight. A genuine injury that prevent the fighter getting anywhere near his best, it's absolutely up to the boxer to disclose it and not deceive the people paying huge money to watch it. Everyone would have been perfectly happy to see this fight in 6 months or a year. Mayweather would still have wanted this fight. He's spent 5 years building up this fight so he could get 200mil for it, rather than 30-50mil for it 5 years ago, no other fighter would offer the same kind of purse. He would have taken this fight a decade from now if that is what it took.

Potential sentence for defrauding millions of people to the tune of making 100million+, against the billions spent by the viewers, the people paying for tickets 450k front row seats, 10k a seat quite far back, still expensive way at the back, expensive on PPV, the what will be likely billions spent in betting on the fight, hotels, flights, etc. No, if you lied and cheated them all... jail would be too harsh for stealing 100million + , sure....
