Flushing a Radiator - Why?

Some rads are factory flushed such as the EK rads,my XSPC was the same nothing but clear water when flushing it.

So would it actually be safer NOT to flush it? Considering by flushing it I risk lime scale contamination...?

only going to get limescale if you flush with tap water

if you flush with deionised, or with tap water diluted vinegar, you can't get limescale

So should I just mix some boiled water with some white vinegar, rinse and shake a few times and that will be fine?

question is do the hardcore watercoolers 'trust' the manufacturers flushing techniques?

here's hoping that if they are bothering to do it they are bothering to do it well:)

I bought an XSPC just before Christmas and I left it overnight with distilled vinegar in it, then gave it a good shake before emptying. After seeing what came out, I'll definitely be doing it again.

Like everyone says, they're not as bad as they used to be but IMO it's still worth doing. I've still got it actually so I'll post a pic later.

I've heard guys using white malt vinegar, but leaving it sitting in the rad overnight.

Though if you've ran boiled DI water through it several times already and it's came out clear each time, I doubt there's any need to do this.

You shouldn't leave it in over night or for a long period of time. Been doing some reading up on it, people think that when they leave vinegar in it and blue/cloudy water comes out that it's dirt/flux, its not, it's actually the vinegar corroding the metal. - Badddd lol
