i have seen people use water filters for this... thing is what is it im actually looking for? i know there big things and want to get hold of one tomorrow if i can when all my new gear turns up!!!

You can flush/rinse with tap water until you have removed any gunk, then give our a final rinse with distilled/pure/dionised. Drain and add to your loop.

Five litres of dionised to rinse out is a few pounds. That would be my recommendation.

I'm flushing mine right now. I have the sink filled with hot tap water and have set up a small loop. Running it for a few hours. After that's done, empty the sink and refill with dionised water and, again run for a few hours. :)

i know of that way of doing it already.. i just have also seen people using water filters to do this also. at least then i can setup the loop and let it run and all the bits get stuck in the filter!

This is what i did

Submersive garden pump

Tub of sorts preferably with opening big enough to drop a garden submersive pump into.

Inline water filter

some di ionised water

Leave for a few hours cycling through

and your good to go

would you be willing to share that filter :)

price of posting would only cost a few £££,could come in handy for quite a few people,i have 2 quad rads that need flushing, mail me if your interested.

Just flushed a radiator for the first time. I filled it with hot tap water and shook it around for a while and then drained it. I used a clear glass to check how clean the water was coming out. From the first flush it seemed really clean to me. Maybe the odd specs of dust. Nevertheless I repeated that flush method 4 or 5 times, then flushed it with deionised water a couple of times.

Will that be okay? Or do I need to run it in a loop for a few hours like people have suggested here?

try it like this, pump with the inlet in the sink, the outlet from the rad can go into a pot and the clean over flowing water will go back into the sink
