Flushing radiators -

Okay do I was thinking I would attach a hose to the tap and one end with compression fitting to the radiator and a short piece of hose out the other hole and then run the tap for a while with hot water then after ive done that rinse it out a few times with distilled water?

Right guys? Right?

So amaze! wow..

Alternatively flush with tap water (be careful not to use too high a pressure), then fill will distilled vinegar ( the clear stuff available from most supermarkets), leave overnight then flush with deionised water, allow to dry throughly and then fit into loop and fill with your choice of coolant ( or as has Been said deionized water and a biocide.

My god some folks go to long lengths to do this
I just fill rad 3/4 full of DI water, shake for few mins, empty and repeat once more. Done.
Never had a problem.

it's one of those things where there is a perfect way of doing it..... then the way you end up doing it. Everytime i add a rad i think about how i should do it but speed the process up because i need the pc back up.

I did both of my 480s with boiling distilled water.

3 flushes each, a little crap came out on the first pass but not as much as I was expecting. Guess it differs from brand/model/manufacturer process.

Plumbing and water is just a waste of money, i just use pee, as it is sterile, contains no algae spores and comes in a variety of colours from almost crystal to golden yellow. Natural biocides like ammonia keep it in check and it comes with its own hose to avoid spills...

Best post I have seen all month! Of course depending on how much water you drink, you can get different shades too :D

My routine is fill with tap water shake up and down for a couple of minutes then empty.

I do that about ten times making sure the water coming out is very clean at the end. Emptying onto white surface like white bath is good to spot any debris etc.

Final rinse with dionised water then fill with mayhems coolant (so I don't have to worry about biocides etc...)

See, now I actually want to try this..... He's got a point, it is sterile and naturally anti fungal, so maybe....... Hmmmm

Maybe if I do try I won't tell the wife what is circulating in my PC :-)
