Planning this trip in June/July this year.

Fly to Vegas stay 3 nights then Drive to san francisco...can anyone recommend any websites for booking etc...

Cheers

EDIT:

There has been a change of plan. We now plan to fly to LA, stay a couple of nights in a Hotel, Then drive to Las vegas.

The main change is that we are now looking at hiring an RV/Campervan and doing a road trip and take in Yosemite National park

Below is the planned route: Notice point A is under point E on the map as thats are start and finish point

From Yosemite national Park before checking out the Grand Canyon we plan to drive to San Francisco then form SF drive up the coastal road back to LA then fly home.

We are looking at renting a smallish Camper or motorhome...Any input or advise welcome.:)

Do it yourself in stages as with then speaking English it will be easier to do. I did something similar a few year ago (LA/SF/Vegas/LA) and packaged it was coming out about 2.5k each.

Booked all the hotels separate, flights desperate and sorted the cars ourselves and it was a bit under a grand.

Thanks for the info...I have looked at some flights and they come in at 750 odd return...

Is it best to book the flights then book the car on its own?

I plan to stay in Motels cheaply is this possible?

Vegas is expensive to fly to and July is one of the most expensive times of year. June will be marginally cheaper. It will be cheaper to fly to Los Angeles instead. You can then drive to Vegas across the Mojave Desert, it takes about 6 hours.

The airline hasn't got any cars it can rent you and the rental agency dont operate planes so any 'joint deals' are simply stringing together two products from two companies anyway so IMHO the best thing to do is book it seperately.

Usually, yes.

I'm going to San Francisco this Saturday with my wife, cannot wait!

Anyone have recommendations on airport to hotel transfer companies?

Generally, I'd agree. You might at the moment find something cheap in the BA sale though. They sometimes use bundled packages to offload flights cheaply without it showing up for business travellers. Can't hurt to look: http://www.britishairways.com/travel/car-rental/public/en_gb?&link=jan_sale_pod10_c

Just used a taxi it wasn't too expensive.

SF is great and there will be a buzz with them winning through to the playoffs.

One of my fav cities the trams the atmosphere even the friendly beggars can give you a laugh.

What's the weather like this time of year? Even in Sept when that fog came it could be chilly such a contrast to 100°F of Las Vegas....

RV hire is very expensive and frankly an RV is a damn nuisance, especially in somewhere like San Francisco.

Rent a car and stay in motels. Probably cheaper as well as being more comfortable

Good spot, its 709 miles from Yosemite to Grand Canyon! You won't be checking out the Grand Canyon between Yosemite and San Fran :p

Yes - the Grand Canyon is several hundred miles east of your point B. Nowhere near Yosemite.

Secondly, SF to LA is southbound, hence down the road, rather than up the road.

Care to offer any more ignorant rebuttals?

Also the huge empty space you are skirting around between Point B and Point C is Death Valley - you are missing out by driving around it, its unmissable and awesome.

yea the grand canyon is like 150 miles EAST of Vegas, its no where near to Yosemite.

However Yosemite is one of the most beautiful places on the planet and well worth a visit as well!

Ditch the RV and get a convertible ;)

edit- as Fox said Death Valley is also well worth a visit!
