Update: I'm screwed! £150 wasted on flights! You guys don't have to tell me, I know I'm an idiot.
Chance it with the out of date passport
No they dont, I fly weekly return to Edinburgh from Luton on a drivers licence with no problems at all.
You used to be able to fly internally around the UK on a driving licence, but even they insist on a passport now.
There's a good Dara O'Brien thing where he does a joke going to an airport with an out of date id and points out that he hasn't actually changed he just hasn't renewed the id.
Could try that line when they are all its out of date... (did manage to waste half an hour looking for the clip too)
It is quite possible it has replaced it, but I travelled to the US recently (Orlando) and had to fill out a form that required my address of stay despite having an ESTA already. I'm going again in January, Orlando and NY. I would know the address regardless as they are likely to ask you at the immigration.
@op when do you book the flight to Sweden?
Depends, EasyJet require a passport iirc, but BA don't!
But obviously legally a drivers licence is sufficient
Seems a good place to ask..
If I'm going to America for 10 days, what do I need to do beforehand?
Booked flights
Booked hotel
Going to arrange transport to/from hotel
I have ESTA approval
Passport in date!
Anything else I need to actually get in there? Flying from the UK
If you don't have any washing powder, I've discovered that cremated remains with the lead ID tags in them also generate a lot of interest... you just need to convince them they don't want to open the bag and taste/test the contents.Make sure you take a small bag full of washing powder, along with some candles and an alarm clock in your baggage.
