FM 2014 build

lol a FM2 set up with a quad and ssd will scream through FM14 with a stack of leagues running!

Yeah but will he only want his PC to last 8 months or so (until FM15 or another game he likes to be released)..

It's no good working exactly to a games spec, unless its a 'top of the tree' games like BF4.

As said above, i feel the 4670k is the way to go on the CPU.

£800 for a gaming PC for FM 2014 without a GPU? Slightly over-kill, I would have thought!

My 5-6 year old (minus the 3 year old, £120 GPU) £500 PC manages 2013 just fine, and 2014 isn't looking to be significantly more resource hungry. FM really isn't that intensive.

An i5 with 16GB RAM and a fast-ish SSD and your 580 GPU (plus mid-level case, PSU etc) should be plenty, and cost a fair chunk lesss than £800

FM is still 32bit like all games right? So 16GB would be a waste unless the PC is for other things too since it can only use up to 4GB of RAM. 8GB is more than enough.

As far as I'm aware FM is moving to make use of 64 bit either in FM2014 or FM2015 - although I can't find a confirmation. Looking at how much RAM 2013 would use with a stack of leagues, it would make sense that they're starting to make use of PCs with >4GB ram.

All looks good, but I would swap out the Asrock for this.

Gigabyte are just a more reliable brand, from my (and idles) point of view.

There build quality is superb and the prices are very competitive.
