SI have just announced FM 2017 will be out on Friday 4th November. Pre-orders will allow you access to beta game roughly two weeks before release.

Also those people who have FM 13, 14, 15 or 16 on Steam can get 5% off the Steam price for FM17 for each previous version you have. So if you have all 4 you get 20% off! Pre-order by 11:59 on Friday 14th October to get up to 20% off.

Friday 4th November? Frigging hell, it'll be the Winter transfer window before the game's playable.
SI do tend to release a patch on the day the game comes out now its all on Steam. I think that is why they let everybody who pre-orders into the beta test as it gives them thousands of people who can find and report bugs in time for them to try and patch them on release day.

and FM2033 will be free!
:D You took the time to work that one out?

Probably preorder on payday, not expecting any massive changes but it's the only game I know I'll get my moneys worth with time played.
I used to think that SI worked on a two year system with developments. So FM05 was the brand new version with lots of new features and FM06 was the version that refined features before FM07 introduced new features etc. However last night I found an article/interview with Miles which suggested that SI worked on a 3 year cycle in terms of features. If my maths is right FM16 could be the first game in the 5th 3 year cycle. :p

Why is there no information on new features yet? Tempted to get back into this version. Struggled to get on board with the newer FMs due to there being too much detail having to go into each area of the game but I went back to FM2008 and my Hyde United game the other night and got the bug...
I know. I don't like how SI appear to be marketing FM nowadays. Making people buy the game before a certain date to receive access to the beta and then not releasing any details until just before the beta comes out.

FM has the brand recognition to not need to trap buyers in like this and SI should be more open, earlier in the life-cycle of an FM release.

Twice I've asked the board for an affiliate club and twice they've said yes. Twice they've also not been able to find anyone. I'm managing Manchester United. :D:rolleyes:

So how are people finding injuries? I'm getting one a week it feels like and quite often first teamers. Most injuries are happening in training yet I've not tinkered with the training schedules, so its still on FM17 defaults, and all my training categories are on light workload.

I wonder what the sports scientists are doing in FM17. I'm getting a lot of injuries and this mocks the addition of sport scientists.

SI always say that injuries are realistic but this many for so long a period of time out? And all this with the new sports scientists. They aren't making any noticeable difference for me.

It does seem like the two 'new' jobs borrow attributes from physios, e.g. the physiotherapy one. :D I guess SI will develop the roles in future versions?

It'd be nice if the sports scientists could prevent repetitive injuries point blank as I have several players with the same flipping injury! :D

Same player, returned from injury.
Was match fit, injured again, for 3-6 weeks.

He has 14 natural fitness.
I think natural fitness covers how quickly a player recovers from a match and how much a match tires a player. The higher the natural fitness the quicker he can recover from a match and the less impact a match has on him.

There is a hidden attribute called "Injury proneness" which covers how likely a player is to get an injury. The higher it is the more likely they'll get injured and perhaps also lengthier injuries too.
