Been working my way through this but have a couple of questions.

1) Last night I had a match which was a "Friday Fight Nights" affair. I won the match (on points IIRC) but didnt get the achievement for it. Did I have to do something else like win by KO? Also am I right in thinking that if I carried on with the same boxer then that match wont come around again, so I will have to retire the current one and start again?

2) Just to confirm, when you buy new stuff from the Fight Store, it does affect your stats as soon as you buy it, without actually reflecting on your visible stats.

Hi,

Question 1) The ESPN Friday Nights matches will happen multiple more times during your career so I think you can get the achievement next time.

Question 2) don't know.

Loathe this game now. Just thrown 3 hissy fits in which I have marked the console (punch) and chipped the controller (slam). Fighting for the world title and I am battering (litterally humilating my opponent) and yet he's doing more damage despite me blocking it! It's a joke. I finally get him wounded and no matter what I do he puts me on the floor.

I am faster, stronger and more agile (stats wise) yet he's quicker at throwing punches and hits me with more damage. It's pathetic.

I feel your pain, but that doesn't answer either of my questions :D

I've kinda gone off this, it's still great fun over Live but I think I'm just going to trade this one in. It is rather stressful and kills my hands! :p

ok...

a) you will get the chance again.
b) I don't think so, never has for me.

Ta ;)

Seems odd that buying stuff doesn't actually reflect on the stats that you see listed, but does actually have an affect.

on a side note when does your fighter retire.

my fighter is now 39 years old, 63 ish fights ( 1 loss :( ) and looking very porky. I have won 2 pound for pound belts, the rating gauge on the side is on the greatest.

what else do I have to do or does it just go on and on ?

I thought you had to retire him yourself manually?

oh right, ill have to have a look how to do that, i take it there is no other things to achieve for this old timer. maybe best he hangs up his gloves at the top.

be interesting to see how long he could go on for though.

Your stats will start plummeting I think and you'll just get pummeled. Press X on the main screen to retire the fighter.

Absolutely hate this game now.

Fighting my rival Sugar Ray on the way to the Everlast Championship just a few minutes ago and my 360 controller almost ended up accross the room.

Sugar Ray is tough. The man can take a beating.

My fight ended up going to the 12th round. By that time, Sugar Ray was absolutely knackered, nose bloodied and I literally closed both his eyes with a series of jabs and right hooks.

Into the 12th round and I landed an impact punch, it goes into the slo mo. Just as I'm about to land him one in the face, the swine counters with an impact punch of his own! He then throws a quick punch to my face and its lights out.:(

Need to take a break from playing this......

Sorry Nismo, can't answer your question. It being an ea game with its pathetic rather non indepth menu's and stats doesn't help either.

Just responding to Guru's Everlast problems above. It's widely known to be the hardest of fights in the game because super EA have introduced super dooper AI which appears out of no where and obliterates you just when you think you're winning.

If you play sugar ray any other time, you'll hammer him silly tbh. I had Ali iirc in the everlast final and I hammered the hell out of him everytime I fought him, but ended up losing because he let rip with an unstoppable flurry of moves everytime. I almost went mental because that was the last achievement I needed.

Go and buy Ali's haymaker from the store, and just repeatedly do body shots with that haymaker...watch how fast they drop - that works for almost every fighter.

Interesting that after all the hype people are starting to go off this game. I said about a week after playing it through it was rubbish compared to FN1.

The stats are rubbish , its unrealistic boing. The jabs useless, haymaker rules everything. You can out box someone for 8 rounds by sticking and moving and you have achieved nothing. The fight store is useless as is the training.

I kept mine until this week when i finally realised I wouldnt play it anymore. I got £35 quid for it at auction. Well happy, 1000 gamerpoints cost me a fiver ;)

The answer to the original post is yes you will get your chance again but the achievement was probably to beat him inside of 5 rounds or something like that.

The fightstore as far as I can tell doesnt really do anything.
