Does anyone own one of these point me in the direction of what to look for?

I have narrowed down to a C-Max based on budget and requirements and the fact that I have yet to own a bad Ford.

Will the 1.6 petrol engine be adequate for the size of car/is it the same engine as my current MK1 Focus 1.6 Zetec or is it a Duratec? Do they have ISO fix?

There are a lot on autotrader with circa 50k and under to be had for under 4.5k e.g. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...d/page/1/postcode/bh212uw/radius/30?logcode=p

Bought an '08 plate last year, a 1.8 titanium. Check the air con works. As the air con pulleys have a habit of failing. Also the aux drive belts can get glazed fairly easy, apparently. Some have separate AC belts too.

I got a 1.8 and kind of wish I got a 1.6 now, as the 1.8 is poor on the juice. Good car, but I just made a poor choice on engine I think. Oh, and my titanium has the 17" alloys on it, the tyres are expensiven as they're an unusual size, and it makes the car tramline like mad! :o

I've got a 2006 2.0 Diesel. Love the car, I've had it for 3years now and its been great.

I've some minor issues with a dodgy power window and the heated screen has broken on one side. In terms of other reliability and comfort it's superb, I love driving it.

It doesn't have ISO fix, but I have two children and regularly have three in the back seats complete with their car seats. No issues. The flexibility of the removable seats is great too, but they are blooming heavy to shift.

I'm thinking of changing it, but only as I'm needing seven seats.

I am on my second 1.6 c max, and I can say the 1.6 is perfectly fine. Its ok for city driving and on the motorway too. Not the most nippy of cars but perfectly adequate.

Its a nice comfy car to drive and I never had any problems with mine.

have a look here for more info http://www.cmaxownersclub.co.uk/forum/
