Focus MK3 - Engine Management Light

geez that seems very very expensive.
whats the cost breakdown ?

From what people have said on the fordowners forum it's a good price for the part. One guy saying BMW ones are £450. For info the replacement I got was a ford replacement direct from ford.

rubbish, i mean you can get ones for around £150 but the cheaper ones will do the same job.

you can even get M5 ones for £70

Does it really matter it's done now the OP was happy to pay that price so who cares what he could have gotten one for?

because if the OP needs a part in the future he will at least have a scoot around for a better price before throwing away his cash.

eurocarparts has the bosch for £74.99 and an even cheaper one for £41.99

£41.99 one made by Haas (didn't know they manufactured car parts - learn something new everyday :) )

yes you can buy ones for £185 but why would you when the cheaper one will work just fine.

If I was fitting it myself, then I would likely buy the genuine plug and play ford part, rather than having to wire up the connector correctly with those bosch and haas universal kits.

Also, it's not unheard of for there to be issues with non-genuine parts (especially on things like coil packs). Whilst I'm fairly sure there isn't anything special about a Lambda sensor on the Ecoboost engines, it is a fairly new engine, so third party parts for it are still in their infancy.

Exactly why I went for a ford part. When I paid £10k for the car I want to use ford parts when I can. I got a good deal on the part from ford so I'm very happy and I had seen the eurocar parts stuff but I was asking if you could get a ford one for cheaper than what I paid(£197)? I always shop about for parts but in this case i felt it was better to stick to a ford part rather than risk OEM issues.

yes i understand there can be issues with non oem parts.
i was just stipulating that there are alternatives out there if you put the effort in :)

No harm in that mate, I was aware of the eurocar OEM's (I use their stuff a fair bit for my old corsa) but decided in this instance to stick with a ford sensor just to be sure. :)
