Focus Rs Vs Dc5 Teg

An absolutely close call between them really. If you will be throwing mods at it, then the RS I guess, but bare in mind the residuals are likely to be hit... something a Teggy might not suffer by as much.

I'd be bagging the RS.

Teg for me please, I sat in a couple of DC5's at an import centre in Bristol
and the driving position was lovely.

I also have a fondness for NA engines

Neil.

The thing about the focus is that it is a very sorted car out of the box, forged pistons and rods as standard and the engine will take loads of power. And I like lots of power :D

I wouldn't of thought the RS would be much behind the Dc5 on a track, mind you i suppose it is heavier and has less power. would have thought it would have left a Dc2 pretty easily though. Mods don't seem to affect values too much, most people selling them tend to take most of them off anyway.

Just hope it doesn't feel too slow from my Rover, it has smooth power delivery too. I reckon I'm gonna need 290hp to get the same performance as my car now. I really do like the front profile of the FRS, especially with the aftermarket splitters. Mmm carbon

Listen to me I'm trying to convince you guys the focus is better  :p Going to see a few soon hopefully and can get an idea of what they are like, I've never even been in one.

Supercharged Teg :dr00000000l:

Teg for me every day of the week, but I am a bit of a Jap whore now ;)

Si

edit - RS has forged pistons as standard! Wow I'm impressed

I know looks are subjective but trust me when you see the RS in the flesh it looks the dogs. For me its the colour, it just stands out.

Also, it'll be a fair bit more refined/comfortable than the Teg I think. Certainly quieter on longer journeys.

I may be wrong but having seen videos of DC5's on a track, I think in that department the DC5 would have the RS.

And an AP racing clutch and a roller bearing Gt2560 turbo....

Dc5 is no good for boost, the conrods are like pencils. :(

FRS imo.

It looks much better and i've seen one on track that is a regular at combe and i was impressed

Stick to the Focus Si, honestly I think that'll be the better choice coming from a torque monster Rover you might find the Integra a total pita - it's hard work to drive it quick.

Since you sat in mine it's had suspension done, fast road geo, stickier tyres, new cat back, complete remap 6 hours on the dyno and it's lost a few kilos too. It's quicker and sharper now, more than welcome to have another taste of it Sunday but you'll end up with the Focus. Rover gives effortless power, Focus does too, Integra makes you work for it.

I bet it is awesome now :D I look forward to a blast.

You have just reminded me to order some new brake pads actually.

It's a lot of fun, I usually get bored of cars pretty quick but this thing has me hooked. Will tell you the story of me & the BMW M5 round the clovers on Sunday. :D

Yeah brakes and cracked discs - being able to stop would be nice. Get on it.

How much does the RS weigh? It's not that much more than the Integra from memory.

Just ordered disks too, no point messing about. Only £160 for 2 disks and a set of pads delivered. Bargain, disks only lasted me 13months :o

The RS is 1175-1278kg depending on the sources I have seen, it's a pretty big car and Golaith mentioned it was 1275kg so I would tend to go with that. really can not see it being lighter than my Rover.

Someone left a nice door dent in it yesterday at work  It annoyed me even on my rover, if someone did it to my next car I can't imagine how I would have felt. :(
