What do people think of these? At first glance I like it, but then after a while something doesn't seem to fit. Maybe it's that spoiler.. who knows? A good friend of mine has the ST and I'm quite impressed with it. I'd be interested to see how this is.

On another note, the Fiesta RS looks seriously mean. Theres talk of a 275bhp model. That's a lot of horsies for a small car (if you can call it small anymore)

296bhp and front wheel drive  You better hold on to that steering wheel when accelerating or it will torquesteer into a tree, I doubt the new fancy front suspension will really make the torquesteer go away.

Looks a bit chavtastic, I don't like it. Escort cosworth anyday :D

Why do people always assume this - OMGZ >250BHP + FWD + OMGZ!

And if it was RWD it would be OMGZ!?! ITS RWD!!!111

Surely it comes down to individual driver skill?

Basically...and lots of people lack it. I can see the objection of 300bhp for the general consensus as loads of people seem unable to control <100bhp fwd cars, but I see nothing wrong with 300bhp fwd...but I havent driven one so don't know how good/ok/bad it is. :)

Well I didnt want to be mean :p

Trying to say something? :p

How does the likelyhood of engine torque and power overcoming mechanical grip have anything to do with driver skill?

The driver can learn to modulate around it, sure, or you can fit electronics that limit the power so you don't get all of it when you can't use it, but that's not a substitute for understanding the physics involved. The weight moves when you accelerate hard, away from the front of the car and to the back, that why RWD is better in that regard, and why 4WD systems push power to the back under acceleration.

But if the car is stiff enough the weight shift shouldn't be enough to balls up the fact it's fwd.

I do agree the car would be better as 4wd or rwd...mostly because I want to see more modern cars (other than BMWs) with rwd. :p
