Focus ST Owners *Updated, exhaust fitted*

Do any of you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted?

Since mine needs replacing, I've been contemplating an aftermarket one just to liven things up a little bit. I'm after something that will generally offer an improvement in noise, weight reduction and aesthetics (the standard backbox being visible is ghastly) without being too loud.

After a quick search, It seems like a Milltek Resonated is the best suited, but interested to hear opinions from others.

Nice suggestion, just checked it out on their site - sounds nice, is £100 cheaper and "warranty compatible".

The mountune is a Miltek built unit I think and is supposed to be a bit more lairy without being chav lairy!

Not got one but the vid on the Mountune site sounds pretty decent.

Dunno what they are going for now but was £400-£500 from what I can remember.

Been thinking of doing mine but strugglingt o justify it!

Ah, just read their site and it says its non-resonated - which would explain why its cheaper - perhaps it is just the Milltek then.

Sounds OK there, but I'm swaying slightly over to a resonated one, just in case I decide to go the downpipe and sports cat/decat route in the future.

magnex catback on mine slight increase in volume over standard and more pops on the overrun. But not too loud so as you notice Visually its a huge improvment as i agree the standard back box on show is ghastly :) I will upload some pics for you when I get home

Thanks, pictures would be great. How do you rate the Magnex in terms of noise when driving normally (This is usually very light acceleration no more than 1/4 boost (on standard gauge) and under 2.5K RPM for me).

during normal driving its hard to know its there, slightly deeper tone at tickover but like i say very unobtrusive normally which was a major plus for me as i really didnt want a lot of noise

how the bloody hell does the exhaust need replacing on a ST ? they haven't been out more than 4.5 - 5 years have they ?

There is a Milltek exhuast available for your car. Why would you want to buy anything else?

This was my first thought - I just wanted to see what experience others have had.

Obviously not an ST, but I've had a Milltek sports cat and full system on the RS for 5 years now and I can't fault it. Not much more noticeable noise-wise than the standard at tick-over, sounds a lot nicer when on the throttle though. Will free up a few bhp as well.

I would remove such offerings from your post monty, else you're liable for suspension I think :o

I have however sent you a trust on a completely unrelated matter.
