These any good? Anything to look out for? Seen one I like the look of with about 40k miles on and thinking of going to see it on Saturday but I don't know much about them! I don't need particularly good MPG because I do bugger all miles but I'd like a practical car still with a bit more go than my 1.6 Astra (100k+ miles and no explosion yet!). Insurance on something like a Civic Type R is a bit of a restriction but I'm assuming the focus would be a fair bit cheaper?

Cheers in advance :) .

Luke warm hatch as opposed to hot. Built well, comfort pack comes with xenons, heated front window and climate control.

I loved mine, it just does not offer decent power for what the chassis is capable of.

It's a high insurance group too, but will be cheaper than a civic type r.

Not really any issues but the 03 plate onwards had a revised throttle cable that runs from the front of the bonnet then back up.

Whats your budget?

I've got one and love it!

Not the fastest of cars but the handling certainly makes up for it! I would definitely recommend one if your after something practical and fun.

I've got the climate pack as mentioned above and I would highly recommend getting one with this pack. The heated windscreen is a life saver this time of year :D

I know it's "only" a warm hatch but it will be about 70bhp up on my current car and I get my speed thrills from my motorbike :D . Also bare in mind I'm only 20, plenty of time for faster things in the future! :) .

I just want a car that's practical, quick enough, looks okay and with a nicer (more comfortable) interior than my astra (not hard, to be fair).

ive got one and really like it as well, sure its not the quickest thing around but its very well put together. its nicer on the inside then my mates clio 182 and I guy I work with CTR.

It handles very well, just wish it had more poke. one thing i would mention is parts. some consumables are quite pricey. sparks and brake pads/discs are not cheap.

no serious issues to watch for, some have a sticky throttle cable, just replace it. 60k service is a biggie I think.
