as im sure with most people, people drivnig with fogs on when it aint foggy cheeses me off somewhat.

I always though people did it on purpose, cos after all my car has dash lights to tell me the fogs are on.

i drove a focus the other day, and was having a nosey around and put the fogs on. nothing on the dash to tell me they were on.

So just wondering, is that a ford thing? Can people post up what car they have, and if there is any indication on the dash that the front fogs are switched on.

I have a Fiesta and it tells me if my fogs are on.

I'm like you, I hate people driving around with their fogs on, it drives me barmy!

When I had my 205, i used to flash all the people with them on. It had driving lights with some rather nice 100w bulbs and some 100w bulbs in the main headlamp for fullbeam :D

I think people do realise that their fogs are on, but they just thinks it looks good. There are people who genuinely forget that they're on after a bit of fog which isn't as bad but when it's completely clear....argh!

You put them on to be cool man

My focus told me when they where on, not on the dask, but where you turn them on. It would seem to me that it would kinda hard to accidentally turn on the fog lights, as you have to pull the switch out.

The Focus (mk1) has indicator lights around the actual light switch for front and rear fogs, but you can't really see them unless you're looking for them.

EDIT: too slow :(

People driving with their rear fogs on whilst on motorways winds me up, its so dangerous, these people either don't realise they are on or they are linked to the front fogs because they think front fogs are cool

I was annoyed yesterday, a saw an Audi A3 with his fogs on, i gave him a quick blip of full beam, he just looked at me and smiled at me, he knew full well what I was doing it for.

Its a legal requirement to have a warning lamp for the rear fog light on all cars fitted with a rear fog.(I think its something like all car post 1980 or thereabouts have to have a rear fog).
Also the warning lamp has to be easily seen from the normal driving position.
I don't think there is a legal requirement for front fogs although most cars seem to have a warning lamp for them.

Bout time they started handing out fixed penalties for it then we would see how cool it is!!!!

They do. My sister gives £30 fines for them when she sees someone with them on.

Edit: (Shes a police woman btw. not some strange person handing them out.)

depends - had this discussion numerous times. Some cars have lamps in the same place as fogs which are driving lights, and only have the same brightness as normal beam, thus arent actually fog lights and are completely fine on, hence no warning light neccessary.

Doesnt bother me tbh - i think it does improve the profile of some cars and i can honestly say on bike or car oncoming front fogs have NEVER caused me a visibility issue (Been riding/driving for 11 years)

Jeez some people get upset / wound up easily :p

There's a thread about fog lights every month on here, gets a bit tiredsome. Yes they're annoying (I suppose, I just don't stare at them, not hard) but there's nothing you can do so don't let it get to you?

Oh and blasting with full beam is probably just as bad :/ (I'd use a rolleyes but again, people get WAY WAY too upset when they're used for some odd reason :p)

I really couldn't car less. I've never seen a car where the fogs have dazzled me more than dipped beam. What does annoy me though is 100 watt bulbs. I don't know if anyone with them has ever been followed by someone with them but they are stupidly bright. I actualy pulled over and asked a friend who was following me with some to turn off his main beam. That turned out to be his dipped beam, when he turned on main beam it just took the ****. Maybe they were out of alignment, but if you're going to use them make doubly sure your head lights are aligned correctly.

I think it falls under "Inconsiderate driving" and it's £40 iirc.
