Foldable Exercise Bikes

If I was to buy one it would be the white one because it would look the most like a clothes horse which is what it is going to be.

Don't waste your money.

What makes you think it's going to be a 'clothes horse'?

I would just buy an actual bike..?
I don't want to buy an actual bike... Don't fancy cycling in the cold, getting blisters on my hands or falling off the bike.

They both look almost exactly the same specs. The black one has 'self levelling pedals' which might save you a few seconds each time you use it but thats about it difference wise. Get whichever looks better in your house :p

Most Excercise bikes sold are used a handful of times and never used again. An £80 Argos excercise bike will be no where near as good as one in a gym that costs 5 times as much.

You live in Surrey, you don't know what cold is. :p Blisters on hands can be avoided by wearing gloves. :) Excercise bike or real bike!

I wouldnt buy either of them.
I'm only just under the maximum weight, but i wouldnt trust them not to collapse under me.

Get a second hand one or spend a bit more to get something decent.

(also, is it just the angle pic or does the white one have the shortest crank arms i'v ever seen?)

I saw something for sale once - think it was either Halfords, Rainforest or Amazon, that I thought was pure genius...

Basically it's a stand for a normal bike that translates it into an exercise bike!

Not going to give quite the same resistance, but I know it certainly worked out cheaper than your two options, seemed to be of better build quality as well!

Of course you do need a normal bike first, but might be worth looking into...

Money isn't the issue, I don't mind spending more money for better quality. However, space is the issue.... I *need* something that I can fold up and store away and these are the two foldable bikes I've found so far with reasonable/good reviews.

Get a foldable rower. Much more effective workout and can fold to take up the same or less space than a foldable bike. I have a Tunturi R60 (I think that's the model) and takes up about the same amount of space as a person when folded.

dont buy anything from argos, if you want a decent one your going to have to take a look at a proper gym store. ones from argos will be crap and most likely break or start to fall apart after a few months of use.

fitness superstore is where i buy all my stuff.

a bike is pretty much useless though, i reckon 1 hour on a bike = 15 minutes rowing/running/skipping.

your basically wasting your time faffing around, do it properly and get something decent, i could probably cycle for 5 hours straight no problem, i would be dead after running for an hour.

basically your looking at £1K minimum brand new for a decent rower and more for a treadmill.

skipping rope = £5

the bike is for fat lazy people who want to pretend they are interested in getting fit. so i suggest you buy a skipping rope (will take up zero space and is cheap) and if your still skipping every day in 3 months time, blow £1K on a rower, otherwise you know for a fact you will never use it and saved yourself £1K.

suggest you take a look in here

although that is focused on weight type of home gyms, most of the rules still apply.

Another reason for getting a bike is because I want minimal noise. I live with family, space is limited and house is crowded. Running would make a lot of noise :p

I have a skipping rope already, but there's not enough space to skip in the house and I can't skip outside unless it's the weekend because it gets dark so early now.

I am not a fat lazy person :p just want a bike as an addition to my current exercise routine.

go to a gym or get some sort of aerobics/zumba dvd tbh. any decent bike will take up as much space as a rower.
