folder sharing over wifi

morning,

i have just put a wireless card in my PC downstairs after months of nagging by the girlfriend to remove the cable. I need to connect the downstairs PC which runs xp to the upstairs one running vista to share files. Can i hell as like do it! i have the downstairs one connected to the wireless router no problem, so i have internet access, i just need to share files now. Can anyone recommend me a idiots guide to do this. I managed it using a cable but im stuck now

If they were shared while connected via cable then they should still be shared now unless you have a different set of firewall rules for the wireless and wired connections.

i must have done something then because the file sharing has stopped working now but it worked before.

Can you see the pc in my network places and do the folders you wish to share have the hand icon under them to denote theyt are shared?

no, i cant see any pc's on the network.

Sounds like you need to re-classify the wireless network under the same catagory i.e Work/home/public etc as you did your wired network.

thanks for the replies, i gave up with a headache at the weekend!
the folders are shared, as for classifying the network, ill look into it as i have no idea.
