Folder sync software

I'm looking to sync my main photos folder on the pc with a external usb hdd.

Any ideas how do this automatically using folder sync software. I've noticed MS have a synctoy software but im scared to use anything atm as im afraid of it deleting photos from both drives or something.

Needs to be more stable than earths gravitational field.

been using synctoy for ages.

its perfectly fine, i dont know why you think it would delete your files?

its very simple software, you tell it what folder you want to copy and where to copy it too..

you can automate it too by using scheduled tasks

If it was me, I'd write a script to run at logon to copy all files and folder (including thier contents) from one folder to another without over writing.

I might even be up for doing you one if you need it.

Well I dont want to overwrite it again. That would defeat the point of a sync.

I think i will give sync toy a go then

Also have a look at syncback - there's a free version that I like. A nice feature is that it will tell you what it's about to copy and delete before it does it. Useful to check that you've not inadvertently changed/deleted something before the backup gets overwritten...

synctoy does that when hit preview too.
