Just ordered a new PSU for my rig while they have the Free MW3 offer on the OCZs, means I can sell the PC version, buy the console version so I can play with mates. This leaves me a PSU upgrade costing £15 and a game costing £10 or so after you account the few quid I'll lose selling it.

Went for the 550w in the end as even with another GTS450 in SLI I'd be pulling around 475w so plenty to spare as its currently pulls 350w from the wall
 
Zeus (new media centre - sort off) has now been added to my list of rigs - gonna run it in for a few days on standard units (fah gpu tracker) whilst I re-organise my network.

So I should be limited to around 170k ppd for a week or so - then maybe rise to over 200K :D

Now I'm just waiting for the new offerings from Intel & AMD to decide which to get.

i'm having problems getting smp WU on one of my rigs , i'm using gpu tracker and here is the log. is anyone else having this problem? my less powerful rigs are still getting units

This issue comes up now and again when PLabs fiddle with the work server. I'm having trouble getting SMP units atm, as well. So just give it some time. Hopefully they will get it sorted in a few hours.
 
Question:

How do I use HFM (on windows) to monitor another machine running Virtual Box - Ubuntu - SMP Client?

I can't seem to find the fah folder (on the network) - even though I have shared the fah folder (in Ubuntu).

I hate being dumb :(

Dek - I know your running the same on your 2600K - any chance you can help?

Shouldn't have a samba password, unless you are using a custom install of Linux. I just use the linuxrouter images for my virtual machines. Only use full blown Linux on the dedicated boxes.
 
I'm sort of scratching around in the dark when it comes to Linux......

Running Ununtu 10.10 via Virtual Box with the 12 core mod for the 2600K.

OC'd to 4.6GHz with 1600MHz Ram (8Gig) - giving around 71k ppd - a bit less than the 83k ppd from the i7 990X also running at 4.6GHz (but with 6Gig of 2000MHz Ram)

Was thinking about a small rig with the new Bulldozer but current numbers (albiet pre release) are not looking good - less performance for more power.
 
I've also found the samba sharing can be a bit dodgy, the share sometimes disappears when you restart a machine, but once it's set up and going again it's fine.

That's a shame about bulldozer, I was looking forward to a bit more variation.
