LB is on a roll.. but still has some way to go to catch brilong (5.3m) or Grandpa (4m) at [H]ardOCP :eek:

I'm just plodding along trying to optimise my power usage, still waiting for parts for my Xeon rig.

Might try overclocking the 6176SE for gits and shiggles.

Too early to be making a switch like that. All my existing GPUs are Nvidia and an AMD wouldn't have fit in anywhere so I would have had to replace several cards. Secondly, the 7663, as far as I know, is the only WU that uses the full potential of the AMD GPUs, if they suddenly stop, they may well go back to crap. I'd like to see more WUs give AMD an advantage and consistently before I take such a major step. Thirdly, I already had 3x670s and this one is to complete the set.

If I'd been building a new rig from scratch, I'd probably have gone AMD but, as this was an addition to what I already have, I've stuck with Nvidia.

I know, I was just winding you up :p

Personally I'd have sold all the gpu's and the rig and bought a quad opteron box.
 
I've picked up a 7663 on my 7970, ppd around 78K, GPU usage won't go above 80% though, is that normal?

EDIT: I stopped started it and it's running at 97% now, ppd 90K odd, gonna try a 570 now.

7970 should ramp up, but you have to be careful about other apps using the cpu too much. I think I was getting near 120K on mine at the same settings at mining.
 
up up ocuk goes, good going. im down to cpu only now after selling my gpus, the output was not enough . i am now looking at cards that can do 30 - 35k ppd each or more as 45 to 50k ppd from 2 gpus and a cpu was quite poor as you lot get more with just one gpu.

strip my case and fully clean adding more dust filters is my first step.

noticed dellboy and kergreg have departed also :(
