If it is old then the above message is because it is no longer supported (they have no work for it).

amd 290

seems im not alone here as abit of searching and on the folding forum several people seem to be having the same problem
im happy I never bothered picking up another 290x yesterday as id be even more annoyed lol

Sounds like their problem then.
Did your searching suggest they were out of work for those cards or that they have broken something ?

wont let me, says it failed to add. it does let me add other projects so guessing its collatz end?

just got in from work after leaving the gpu slot open and some time around 01.00 am it picked up a work unit on the gpu, glad that's sorted. lol

im well impressed with how quiet the pc is considering both cpu and gpu are folding, its silent in here and the only noise been the pc, im surprised it doesn't sound like a planet taking off
