Oh btw for any of you hankering after a good deal on a 500K PPD+ rig Darkmatter is for sale in the MM currently pulling 575K on a 8102

3770K doing nothing else but with a passkey should get close to 30K if clocked up to 4.2Ghz or so. Do anything with it and it'll start to drop down in PPD pretty fast.

As to getting a gpu, stick with the new 6 or 7 series if staying with Nvidia, alternatively a 79xx series AMD is cheaper and gives good returns.

Rough guide at stock clocks:

HD7870 - 55K
GTX 660ti - 60K
GTX 670 - 70K
GTX 770 - 85K
HD7950 - 85K
HD7970 - 110K
GTX 780 - 130K
Titan - 160K

Oveclocking your mileage may vary, the Core17 app is quite sensitive to unstable overclocks.

I get 22K from my overclocked (non TI) 660 and 12K from my overclocked (4.7) 2500K... Am I doing something wrong? :p

Do you get significantly more PPD if the device isnt used for anything else? So for example, I get 15K on my overclocked 460 (which is also the display GPU), if I were to use onboard GFX for the display on that PC instead, would the 460 get substantially more points?

Also... AMD/ATI CARDS ARE GOOD FOR FOLDING AGAIN?!

460 is on stock clocks with reduced voltage to help keep temps in check in this heat. I did see around 19K once or twice when it was overclocked though.
 
What cooler is on it?

Mines a Gigabyte Windforce and I'm only seeing 66'c with 1087mv.

Processor isn't so happy with the temps though.

Even at stock clocks I'm seeing 50+ degrees on my Phenom II and I'm having to run the PC with no side panel.

Hopefully the new case sorts this all out though.

Stock with a reasonable amount of dust buildup ;)

Doesnt matter as i'm selling that system in about a month. (will clean it out first of course) :)

Note, scores quoted are for the Core_17 Zeta App, you need to be running with client-type advanced or client-type beta if you are a beta tester.

back to 70k ppd on 8900's now.
