Cheers for the news.....

Quick Question:

I'll be looking to replace the i7 930 with an i7 980 in the very near future - if using the FAH GPU Tracker client, will it automatically run the big-bigadv's or will I need to do a manual setup (using whatever smp client is available nowadays)?

Also, are they worth it - as I vaguely remember people having trouble with them.......

Cheers in advance

My i7 970 gets around 70K PPD on a bigbeta WU runing in VirtualBox on windows. It clocked to 4.1Ghz and runs trouble free, but it does take over 3 days to do one, so the risk of losing one is something you have to take into consideration.

Looks like my ppd will drop by 30k...........

My Raid Volume failed and it's gonna take 100 hours (thats what it's currently estimating) to rebuild :(

Damn you Acronis.......It happened right after I used Acronis Disk Director to create a Partition for Virtual Box & Linux.

Tried to reactivate the Volume - but it was having non of it - so then it said I had to rebuild it :(

My output is way down right now for two reasons. Partly, my internet connection is absolutely fail at the minute, needs resetting 5-6 times a day...sigh. More relevantly, my Windows install on my rig **** itself, and rather than reinstalling I've decided enough is enough, Nvidia chipset drivers really don't get any better even with workstation boards/chipsets, and I'm belatedly going 1366 i7.
Why not SB? Because X58 is cheaper, and I can have 24GB of RAM :)
I'll be back up to full speed, maybe a little more, in the next week or so.

At the moment I'm not running GPU's but because of heat issues more than anything else. They raise the ambient temp in the room too high causing the other machines to fall over. Need aircon really :o

So 12 cores :) I did test it with 11 cores and 3 GPU's and with the 280 drivers it works well with minimal hit on the CPU crunching, but the system becomes pretty unusable on the desktop.

Haven't checked email, I'm in transit flying back to the UK. Didn't see it so its probably gone into junk :D Will get to it when I get back.
