Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 10th May 2007

Why take a risk though?

The Folding@Home project team always stress you should seek permission as it only undermines the project and gives it a bad name. I know we joke about secret borgs but I suspect most of us wouldn't actually do it.

He could risk his job or lose the client if it ever got back to him.

how would they find out it was you?

You never know. He wouldn't be the first to lose his job for running DC without permission.

Also, whether they found out who it was or not, people get bad ideas about the project when it's installed on their machines against their will. It just makes it look underhand and unprofessional.

Right it's far too nice an evening to be sat writing the news for the next hour so I'll catch up with it a little later on - stats pages are all safe and sound but don't be expecting it till it's a bit darker outside :p :)
