The specs are the same, yes. However, optys are designed for use in servers and are made with a better quality silicon wafer. The X2 is also sorted by speed, whereas optys aren't (iirc) - chips that run at higher frequencies becoming 4800+ and the ones that don't having 512KB cache disabled on each core and default frequency lowered. Opteron's (Dual Core) are Denmark, Italy and Egypt cores
