Folding@Home Weekly Team News - 24th August 2007

It would have course mean selling my car.... or a kidney :o

Christmas present?

Thanks for the news rich, been having major issues with my ISP but things have improved today (note production boost ;)) but all is far from well.

Anyway must stop typing before I lose my connection again :o

Nice team output btw and it's all change at the top again
Good to see that user output avg is on the rise again :D

BTW, what do people think of the new-look forum? Has anyone actually noticed?

It's very much like the old forum, but it doesn't set off the Windows security features anymore eg. you can paste a link without having to give it explicit permission first. That's an improvement. It's very much what lots of other forums have been like for quite some time. I think it's just the newer version on the software. I notice that the 'Thanks' buttons that have been turning up everywhere else haven't made an appearnce here yet though, thankfully.

new forum look(well sort of)

No smilies shortcuts in the quick reply :((and yes i did notice)
and typing them just isn't so much fun :D

Best features are the four in the top right corner
spell check is helpfull
Increase/decrease window is great as is the editor for them that over use smillies

Still top 10 in production and a few stomps, plus *another* tiffe :D

And I was away in Portugal all last week with the X2 offline. Should be back to full speed again soon. But might have to pull another quad upgrade process to stay there :)

hi chaps, just put my shiny new ps3 to task. team 10 yeah?

would be playing games on it but the company i got it from decided to send the games out 2 days after the console...handy.

KE1HA or Whitestar (Ligerzero) for top slot next week? My money's on Whitestar. BTW, what do people think of the new-look forum? Has anyone actually noticed?

ms9cw

EDIT: Whitestar will be getting a very nice visit from the postie today! Congrats!! :)
Yes, my bet is on Ligerzero as well, as I had three 8K days due to them flippen 3059's. my boxes don't like them at all !!

My Main rig is going down tomorrow for a water cooling upgrade :D So it will be out for at least a half day.

Hi All.

Does anyone know what port the client uses to connect with assignment servers to get work units?

I'm having a slight problem downloading work units and I think its a firewall problem.

For those of you who backed me to be top this week, if I can get wok units again I may be top next week.
