The two places in my town I thought would be bad are, all others are pretty good, mind you, Borden which is just up the road and full of squaddies has got some shockers, reckon it's enemy action trying to put our lads out of action, either that or it's designed to toughen them up for overseas so they don't go getting dehli belly lol

Doesn't surprise me with Borden tbh. The ones I eat at around Farnborough are all at least 3 stars

Are you claiming that asian owned/run takeaways are mostly of poor standard?

meh, it doesnt cover my towns post code but it does the surrounding ones, nice to see Rocco's Pizza with 5*, they do a great pizza and they are cheap

My workplace is a 4, not a 5 because someone was using a red handled knife to cut veg :/ annoying since we get knives on rent from nella and they sent us only red handled ones

Just checked a kebab place near me that I ordered from quite regularly and they scored a 1. Does it bother me? Not really.

The food is always good and I've never had any issues or been ill from it.

I used to order all my Pizza from my local Pizza GoGo but about 5 years ago when 'Scores on the Doors' first appeared they received the worst score possible. The report included 'wilful disregard for hygiene'.

I never ordered another pizza from them despite them being the tastiest.

Edit: It didn't help that the very last pizza I ordered from them came complete with what I hope was a beard hair.

Same, Only two places on my local high street are a two, most are 4, with a few 3s and 5s.

Funnily enough of the two twos... One is a School and the other is a very dodgy pub I wouldn't go in to...

I remember the fuss that was made in Cambridge when these scores were first handed out. What was at the time our only Michelin star restaurant got 0 while a Scottish sounding American burger purveyor got 5.

Overall I think the scores are useful, and certainly encourage the under performers to up their game on the hygiene front, the scoring system is no measure of quality.
