Or I want a teaspoon of something, I have a teaspoon. I have a set of cups, why not use them.

The problem is that cups can mean one thing in one recipe and another thing in another recipe. Then you get recipes that use cups to measure some things and grams/etc to measure other ingredients, making the proportions annoying to work out/be accurate with.

A cups a cup. There aren't different meanings, only people not knowing what to do.

As for recipes. That's usually someone combining recipes together and is pretty rare.

For example when you see some of my cooking threads, there's chances it'll have mixed measurements as its an adjusted or evolved recipe.

A cup isn't always a cup in all recipes. Sure, there are exact 'cup' measurements that are stuck to religiously in many recipes, but not in all.

I tend to like to read a lot of recipes to get an idea of the different approaches to a meal - perhaps this makes it more likely for me to run into the 'fringe cases' where the author uses mixed measurement methods.

I smashed my iPad by dropping a spice bottle on it. One that is water and temprature resistant would be great, can be wiped clean with a sponge.

Would be nice to see how it handles recipes, there's a subscription for their recipes. But can you import or add others.

I've got a touchpad on the way at the moment and was hoping to use it during cooking. Maybe I'll try to get some kind of protective case for use in the kitchen...

I just though I have f1, general Motorsport and news subscriptions on YouTube. But no food one. Does anyone follow a YouTube recipe blog? Other than epic meal time.

Edit - found one BBQ pit boys. Love the stereotypical voice overs and some nice sounding BBQ recipes.
