Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will miss out as he needs another seven to 10 days to overcome a groin problem.

After a week's rest boss Rafael Benitez may stick with the same side knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea.

Arsenal will be without leading scorer Robin van Persie (groin) and striker Emmanuel Adebayor (hamstring) for the trip to Anfield.

Full-back Bacary Sagna has recovered from a virus and could feature along with fit-again Croatia forward Eduardo.

Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski will again deputise for the injured Manuel Almunia (ankle).

Defenders Gael Clichy (back), William Gallas (knee) and Johan Djourou (knee) are all sidelined.

Carragher is easily your best CB, it's not even close. He's one of the best defenders in the league. As much as it pains me, I'd take him at United in a shot.

While I agree he's Liverpool's best defender, I kinda of agree with him being one of the better defenders in the League.

Wouldn't have him at United, not because of who he is, just because he's getting on and won't be able to turn out the kind of performances he's known for doing.

At most, two seasons left in him, I'd say he only has next season really.
Liverpool's other center backs don't have **** on an in form Carragher.

LOL those are some funny quotes tbh, wonder how much they were paid to spout off those quotes.

Sure Scholes is a good player, a trooper if you like but calling him the best Premiership player is a bit silly. Honestly if he was that good then why have no other teams like Real Madrid, Barca, AC Milan...you know the big players in the footie transfer market have never made an approach for him??. Didnt Fergie say a few days ago that no team has ever made an approach for the ginger nut??:p.

Paul Scholes in his day was a very good midfielders, one of the best of his generation for England. He would have graced many many teams across the world.

He was already at a "big player" in Manchester United. Do you think Raul would have left Real ?

Scholes is still one of the finest midfields in the League in my opinion.

United should be back somewhere near full strenght tonight, Hope they up their performance because it has being nothing short of shocking over the past few weeks.

Berba shouldn't start.

Berba on the bench, if he comes on against Portsmouth he better but a bit more effort from him.

Van Der Sar = most over rated goal keeper in the league ?

Why can't we just get hold of the game and knock a couple in ?!!

What's wrong with us this season ?

We need a finisher, another Van Nist, but we got a Berba instead
