Football 5th-6th Feb 2011 **SPOILERS**

Bleh gotta feel some sympathy for their fans, Wenger must play some part in all of this.

God no, I remember how I felt when we chucked an enormous lead away against Spurs and drew 4-4. I was mocked for weeks after that!

Sorry if i sounded grumpy, im not. Quite please actually as we managed to get the win and Arsenal lost a 4 goal lead.

Just annoyed that Klattenberg is still reffing in the premier league when he is obviously out of his depth. He made shockingly bad decisions for both team. And not for the 1st time.

S'alrite, had it been yesterday I may well have exploded :D

LOL at Arsenal. Do think Barton could have had two yellows though, one for going through the back of Arshavin and obviously the tackle on Diaby which led to him getting sent off was a terrible tackle. He always seems at his worst vs Arsenal. Still, 4 - 0 to 4 - 4 is unforgivable

It wasn't wrongly ruled out though.

You can whine about the lack of consistency but the right decision was made.

Bolton fans might complain about the fact Jenas wasn't sent off too.

I think we can complain about more game changing decisions.

Why wasn't the first penalty ruled out then because there was just as much encroachment? (all of it from Bolton for both penalties). And there was the same amount of it for the 2nd attempt when we missed. So we should have been able to take it again in that case.

Then he gives a penalty only to change his mind afterwards.

Still, we won, deservedly, so nevermind.

Cant believe the Arsenal game. Two extremely soft penalties and Diaby almost had his leg snapped in half, but the rest was Arsenals fault, they always lay off when a few goals ahead but just cant go back up a gear when they need to. Don't deserve to win anything.

As I said, you can moan about the lack of consistency but the decision to make him retake the 2nd penalty was correct. As you say, he should have made him retake the 1st as well so maybe you shouldn't complain too much ;)

As for the 3rd penalty, what's he done wrong? He awarded the penalty then noticed the lino had already flagged for an offside decision

Yeah, Diaby was so lucky to come out of that challenge ok, Barton just piled through his shin and bent his leg badly. The last time he got fit, Robinson nearly ruined him, he's back again and Barton tries :/ He's very unlucky

What a day for football!

5-3 to Everton after being 3-2 down! Unbelievable. COYB!

Even better for Newcastle. Plus the Geordie fans will be pleased that the first 2 of Stoke's goals should have been ruled out!

I rarely post here but I decided to catch the Arsenal game as I love the football they play. Was great but kind of felt the official ruined the match as if he was playing to the home side awarding soft penalty after soft penalty to give the homeside a sniff.

He ended up giving them the whole thing, on a platter. What takes the cake is when Nolan decided to give the Arsenal keeper a headlock, akin to something from the WWE and and bring him down. It seemed way over the top, violent perhaps. Why the Arsenal keeper got a yellow and why Nolan got no red is beyond me.

Maybe the official had something riding on the match too.

Yes but after Diaby got sent we played with no DMs and it was quite telling with the way we were harassed in the midfield. Also when I saw Eboue coming on late in the match, I would have thought he would have been a better option in midfield than Rosicky. At least he'd have known which to clear the ball.

ARghhhhhhhhhh:mad:

Yes, what Nolan did was worse than what Diaby did, but instead of sending Nolan off he booked the Arsenal keeper. There is a long list of very odd decisions coming from that game.

Could blame Diaby for the red, or Dowd for his stupid decisions, but I blame Squallaci, it's as if brings out the worst in everybody defensively when he's on the field. Koscielny's looked great playing with Djourou, Squallaci comes on and everything falls apart

No, Koscielny always looks crap, the run of recent games have just been against rock bottom teams, or lower league cup opposition. Koscielny since day one has looked like a walking mistake. Rosicky, I said ages ago since his last proper injury, he offers nothing except fouling, he came on, barely got a pass right, barely went forward, and fouled everyone constantly.

He's turned into a fouling git with no goal threat in the slightest.

Diaby's an idiot, a complete idiot, it wasn't a great tackle by Barton, it wasn't bad, the ball was loose and frankly Diaby stepped into the tackle more than Barton doing anything wrong. His reaction was retarded, he got sent off Wengers reaction was worse.

For 30-35mins or whatever we played West Ham panick football, long ball, constantly, to no one, or Sagna ran it into the corner without looking up or passing. Take of Arshavin, the one person who can pass the ball, and leave on Theo, who consistantly ignored every simple pass while trying to do something special but having the talent of a retarded turnip managed to waste the ball at every opportunity.

Joke of a second half, yes both penalties were soft, but why is Koscielny kicking through the legs of a player both running and facing away from goal, theres zero direct threat, just stay between him and the goal thats your job. Soft penalty but if he doesn't stick his leg out, its no penalty. ROsicky, soft penalty, don't stick your arms out, no penalty. Just stupid players doing stupid unnecessary things.

We've got 3 dodgey CB's and one whose played a season and missed half a season, but if ever fit is the single CB who should actually be at the club.

Diaby shouldn't have been on the pitch as he should have been sold 3 years ago, he's simply not good enough, he's a constant red card risk though not for his attitude but his ridiculous lunging tackles. Awful defensively, incredibly average going forward, no idea why he's at the club.

Had we taken off Theo for Eboue straight after the red and stopped wasting the ball we would likely have easily won the game, taking off your best players who can actually pass, while leaving on your worst players who can't is asking for a disaster when down to 10 men, and thats just what we got.

We've had plenty of money, we could have gone out and bought 2 world class CB's, instead we got two bargain basement CB's and neither are close to good enough for Arsenal.

Could see it coming a mile off, even worse was what should have been their second goal was clearly onside, we could have lost that game.

During the first half I was reconsidering the idea that Bolton vs CHelsea was the single worst performance of the season, no ones been as bad as Newcastle in that first half, and Arsenal were even worse in the second half.

I thought Djourou going off was as important as Diaby going off, we won nothing in their air after DJ went off which caused a lot of problems

The whole thing just smacked of arrogant complacency after Diaby went off (for once I agree with DM, he should have been shipped out long ago). By all means don't shut up shop but at least be pragmatic and keep a defensively minded midfielder in there!
