Football Banter Thread

Some of those are pretty hard and others you have an "of course" moment when they reveal who it is. Some of them are hilarious. Ozil looks like a weird kid. Only a couple of them look almost identical now and then. Rio and Bale are little spits

Only Rio was obvious to me.

Lol at lamps, Bale looks like he was involved in some eary business.

Most of them look nothing alike I.e ronaldo, then there's some faces that never changed like Hernandez

All over the French press this morning about Platini saying on RTL the UEFA FFP rules are to be eased and that we'll hear about it at the end of June:

"Today, the French want another application. If Qatar had bought AC Milan, they want stricter enforcement. But the Italians also say today that we need a FPF lighter, continued Michel Paltini. So it'll be ... I understand that in a world of false bottoms, okay. But we say it openly! I think we'll lighten things up. This will be the executive committee to decide. You'll know at the end of June. "Saturday, La Repubblica explained that this overhaul of financial fair play had been decided by UEFA and the ECA (European Club Association) at the many legal actions in progress.

So, couple of people with connections at the club are reporting BR will be sacked (via the twitterverse), interesting..

Wouldn't surprise me considering Klopp and Ancellotti will be available this summer by the looks of it.

Anyone think this isn't a keeper trying to avoid making the save?

...

Reports originating from Spain claim that Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are considering replacing Brendan Rodgers with Rafa Benitez in the summer.

Spanish newspaper AS claims that Rodgers is close to the chop and that the return of former Liverpool manager Benitez is "really possible".

I'm still not convinced by Klopp, although he did manage to turn Dortmund round and has done well with them. Is Benitez past it? He's done well at Napoli and if he can bring Higuian with him.....

What are your concerns about Klopp. He has consistently done well with a small budget compared to other CL teams and also manages to keep dortmund doing well in spite of their top 2 players leaving most seasons.

This season they have had most of their best players injured and they lost their star striker last season.

'Reports from Spain' is generally media talk for ****.

Twitter stuff comes from Mike Jeffries and Andy Heaton backing him up as a respectable source btw.

He said he's a decent lad. Look through Jeffries previous claims to see if he's a respectable source. You'll find he's full of ****. He'll block you if you tell him that btw.

As for whether Rodgers stays or goes. I don't believe anybody knows, including the journalists that are reporting that he's safe. As we saw with Dalglish, nobody over here has any contacts within the decision makers at FSG and there won't be any leaks. The only people that'll know whether he goes or not will be Henry, Werner and maybe a couple of other senior figures at FSG.

My gut feeling is that he might go. FSG wanted a set-up where the manager makes up just a small part of the running of the football club and could be easily replaceable if he's not fulfilling his role. There's been compromises from the beginning to how FSG want the club set-up and I can't imagine they've been too impressed with Rodgers reluctance to utilise players that maybe weren't 100% his choice.

I do love Mourinho in all his cockyness.

After their loss to West Brom

Mourinho, whose side won the title with three matches to spare, acknowledged he and his players were "guilty".
But he added: "I think the top contenders are also guilty because they let us win the title so early."

What have the following teams got in common? Liverpool, Manchester United, Ipswich Town, Watford, Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Queens Park Rangers, Everton, West Ham, Arsenal, Norwich City, Aston Villa, Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday, Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United and Chelsea. Since three points for a win began in 1981-82, they have all finished within 12 points or less of the champions. No place for Tottenham. Incredible, isn’t it?

From the DM so it must be true...
