Football Fixtures 08/09

Oh well deal with it.

Happy to see us getting the away games against chelsea/arsenal/pool out of the way fairly early in the season. Good opening day game too, should get our goal difference off to a flyer :p

Don't see whats so bad about the Arsenal run in, at the end of the day, you have to be able to win more than lose to win the title, hard game after hard game, easy after easy, who cares. ARsenal have done very well against the top 4 for the last several years, probably the best record, also, with so many of the "hard" games at the end, we could have it wrapped up before we even get into them. We would also equally have a very easy start which could see us run away into the lead, but considering our last 2 years, its the easy teams that took all our important points away.

Meh, we can wipe up this year if we ditch Hleb and Adebayor, former looks likely, later doesn't.

Man utd at home on boxing day for Stoke :) I'm happy with that, tough September for us too with both liverpool and chelsea back to back.

Its finally sinking in we're in the prem :)

Lots of different factors. Money aside i.e. the whole arguement of "well they're paid so much they should be able to play xyz" :

A game against another "top" side requires more attention, it's probably going to be more involved as well with possible sending offs (+ suspensions) and tackles flying in (+ injuries) coming out. If they're spaced out then at least against "poorer" opposition you can rest half fit/suspended players or play squad players for a match or two before bringing the first choices back on against tougher opponents. Hard game next to hard game next to hard game means you can't have such rotation. This might be a factor over 38 games esp if your nearest rivals don't have think about this. Just a theory - not sure what other's think? :)
